Miss O by Maggie Middleton
A lithograph based on sketches the artist made of everyday life over the course of a year.
Maggie Middleton is an artist and printmaker, and is a Press Assistant at Crow’s Shadow Institute of the Arts in Pendleton, OR. As a Tamarind trained lithographer she collaboratively prints with other artists, teaches demos and workshops, and produces her own artwork. She received her MFA in Printmaking at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław, Poland. Middleton received her bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College where she majored in Comparative Literature and Studio Art. Her work ranges from traditional printmaking techniques to wearable art, and her artistic interests include: feminist issues in the depiction of women in art, the gendering of pattern, exotification of culture, and religious iconography.
